About me
About me
My name is Teddy Amsbaugh, I run a nutritional coaching and accountability business called BeatzNutrition, which I started in August of 2020 with one mission — to help.
Help people break away from years of bad relationships with food and even worse influences that come along with finding resources and science-backed information.
In a world full of TikTok fads, fitness influencers that seem to have all the answers and constant white noise, it can be both challenging and overwhelming to tune out and focus in on a firm understanding of nutritional needs that will support goals specific to each individual.
My mission is to help people understand their own caloric needs in addition to metabolic pathways and processes, to attain their goals. I aim to help overcome poor experiences with dieting that lead down pointless pathways of repeating the same exhausting cycles without true, LASTING, change.
I hope to impact their understanding of proper goal phasing, dietary needs and how to become successful with their health physically and mentally.

My Transformation
Between these two photos, the change is easy to see — muscle built, growth and transformation.
What you don’t see is the training, the discipline, the consistency, the sacrifice, the failure and the phases between them.
It’s easy to look at two images and judge what your eyes see, it’s harder to be objective about
the way we look because of how we feel.
A Bit About Me
I’ve always considered myself optimistic, but also a realist.
I see the glass as half full, but I also envision what it could be, what things could look like. So,
no matter what I accomplish physically or professionally, there will always be more work to do.
I’ve found throughout my own transformation that the magic is in the journey, not the
destination. Even so, there are times it’s been difficult to enjoy the fruits of my labor because of
the little voice in my head telling me to think bigger.
That voice though, is what has gotten me where I am in life. Sometimes it’s harsh, torturous and
stressful… but what’s life without challenge? What’s life without obstacles?
That voice has been my compass always keeping me focused.
Growth Through Struggles
These days, I believe the obstacles we overcome forge the path to what we want most, in
ourselves and in life.
I’ve been athletic my entire life, but I’ve also struggled with a stocky build (some of my friends
still call me “Incredible Bulk”). I used to be uncomfortable with my big belly and was often
teased for being “fun-sized”.
I wasn’t confident in my physical appearance and felt self-conscious, so I decided to make a
change.
Why I Started Training
I started lifting weights not only to get stronger, but to build confidence. I’d drag my friends into
workouts and force myself to train even on days when I didn’t feel like it because of how good it
made me feel and the satisfaction I found in honoring myself and my health for both the present
and the future.
Eventually my passion for this helped me realize I wanted to become a trainer. I wanted to be
like other badass coaches leading classes, influencing and motivating people and showing them
their true potential.
I wanted to be a light in the dark, someone people could hold themselves accountable to.
I wanted to prove that we are all strong, capable and worthy.
My Training Journey
I started training 1-on-1 clients, quit my job, and fell in love with success I saw through the
people I helped.
Over the years, I earned certifications in everything I could related to training — NPTI, NASM,
PC1, PC2, CES. Now, 12 years later, I’m still here, still training.
Along the way, I was introduced to nutritional coaching. I began helping people transform not
just through exercise, but by guiding them on nutrition, through accountability and personalized
programming. It was then that I realized that coaching was my true calling.
I started my journey in Nutritional Dietetics at OCC, later finishing at Oakland University.
Alongside my degree, I took several Precision Nutrition courses (Levels 1 and 2) to deepen my
expertise.
My experience coaching thousands of clients through their health and physical goals gave me
the skills and knowledge to help people with proper programming, empowering them to achieve
their ideal shape, optimal health, and the confidence to hit their goals on their own.
BeatzNutrition
In August 2020, I launched BeatzNutrition — right in the middle of the pandemic. I can
confidently say, it’s been the best decision I’ve ever made.
Now, my mission is simple, I’m here to help you.
I lead, educate with the goal of helping you:
Achieve a better understanding of your nutritional needs
Break the cycle of endless yo-yo dieting and find true sustainability
Teach you the individual requirements for lasting change
Provide more support, accountability, and know-how than you’ve ever experienced
A Few Final Thoughts
A bit about my progress:
I never change the way I eat
The only thing that changes is the amount of it I consume as I transition from goal to
goal.
I preach a flexible approach to dieting because it’s the only way to stay consistent long term,
without falling into the trap of yo-yo dieting.
If you’re not committed to staying committed, you’ll have difficulty reaching and maintaining your
goals and results.
Most of my programming focuses on strength training with minimal, but specific conditioning.
My Message to You
I’ve worked hours, days, weeks, months, and years to become who I am today.
My message is simple, I’m here for you. I want to be in your corner.
As long as YOU believe you can do it, together, we will.
Because I already believe in you.
